About Us

Our Story

Our History

The Rehoboth Garden Club was founded in 1934 by a small group of passionate gardeners who shared a vision: to cultivate beauty, community, and environmental stewardship in Rehoboth and the surrounding region. From its earliest meetings held in members' homes, the club quickly grew into a cornerstone of local civic life.

Over the decades, our members have planted and tended public gardens, championed conservation causes, and brought horticultural education to schools and community organizations throughout the area. We have been proud members of the Rhode Island Federation of Garden Clubs, the New England Garden Clubs, and National Garden Clubs, Inc. — connecting our local efforts to a broader national mission.

Today, the Rehoboth Garden Club continues that legacy with an active membership, monthly programs, garden tours, flower shows, and a scholarship program that invests in the next generation of environmental stewards. Nearly a century on, our roots run deep — and we are still growing.

Membership

Membership in the Rehoboth Garden Club is open to anyone with a love of gardening, nature, and community. Whether you are a seasoned horticulturist or simply enjoy spending time outdoors, you will find a warm welcome among our members.

As a member, you will enjoy monthly meetings featuring guest speakers and hands-on programs, access to discounts at local nurseries, invitations to exclusive garden tours, and the opportunity to participate in our community beautification and scholarship initiatives.

We typically meet on the first Monday of the month from September through June. Every meeting features a great selection of tasty treats and refreshments. Members are encouraged to participate in as many activities as possible throughout the year. To accommodate a variety of schedules, our meeting times vary, either in the morning or in the evening.

Annual membership dues are $40. Many of our members are from Rehoboth or Seekonk, but we welcome all from the surrounding communities!
